Hello Friends!

My brother-in-law asked me the other day if anyone from our graduating class actually has a job lined up for after graduation. I can now happily report that Jocelyn is representing us well in the real world =) It's great to hear from all of you! Even though senior project was the bain of our existences, it definitely brought us all together . . . it made the goodbyes harder and it makes me miss Western even more, but at least we have the internet to keep lines of communication open (yay PK for setting this up!!)

Like Steph and Jessica, I'm going the volunteer route next year . . . typical Western kid move =) I'll be in Kerala, India as a Young Adult Volunteer through the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). It means I've spent my first couple of weeks home in the doctor's office getting vaccines for diseases I didn't even know existed, and asking for monetary donations (awkward task). I won't know my specific placement until June or July, but I do know I'll be teaching English next year, among other random responsibilities. I'll keep you posted once I know more/have an address/get my own blog set up . . .

Can't wait to hear more about what everyone is doing!

Weeeee!

Hi from France!

Hey there fellow grads!

Well I'm back in France for 2 months hanging out with the family and some friends from high school. It's been a whirlwind of emotions over the past couple of weeks (many ups and downs) but I figure that comes with the territory...
I was recently placed by my "future" company Newell Rubbermaid to be the Sales Representative in Los Angeles, CA. Looks like Stephanie and I will, hopefully, be crossing paths... if I venture into Compton (not quite sure I'm as courageous as she is on that one) but hopefully we can meet up. Steph any insights on L.A. other than insane??? lol
Once I have my new address out there (still apartment hunting) I will be sure to post it.

Great ceremony guys! We really came together in the end and I look forward to hearing what everyone's up to after this thanks to.... PULKIT'S GREAT BLOG (Sry Pulkit couldn't be the only one not to thank you!)

Hey friends!

Good Idea Pulkit and Congratulations Jessica!

LOVE IT

So, Pulkit ... really good idea! Since I just got my Peace Corps assignment I figured I could share it with everyone. I'm really excited to go to Niger. I leave for my staging even on July 7th and it's quite a mix of emotions. My official job title is community & youth: education. Basically, I get to work with my community in both formal and non-formal modes of education to promote literacy as well as education for women. For anyone who is interested:

My mailing address (come July) is
Jessica Slack
Corps de la Paix
B.P. 10537
Niamey, Niger

Keep your fingers crossed that I get to live in an apartment ;)

Have a great summer.

Welcome!

Hey WCP Class of 2008,
As the class rep, my job is to keep us all connected, and to send in updates to the WCAA about all the awesome things we are all doing (or will do, soon). So, as my first task, I decided to start this blog for our class. I've given you all author access to this blog, so you can all post stuff. Hopefully, this will be an easy way for us to keep in touch with each other and to keep up with what we're all doing.

I've added you all through the MUOhio email addresses I had. If you are using a non-Miami address already, let me know and I can re-add you. I don't know how successful this idea will be, but let's give it a shot!

I hope you all are enjoying the break, and I'm sure you have exciting things planned ahead! So, go forth and blog your heart out!!! :)
